Kevin O'Brien

Dr. Kevin O'Brien is a postdoctoral researcher in the Khmelinskaia lab, working jointly with Prof. Reidun Twarock, a mathematical biologist at the University of York. His background is in theoretical condensed matter physics, which he studied during his doctorate at the University of Cologne. His current research lies at the interface of mathematics, biology, and chemistry, with a focus on the role of symmetry in molecular polyhedral nanocages, viral assembly, and protein design. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys studying mathematics, reading, hiking, and brewing beer.
