Dr. Danny Wilbie

Danny studied pharmacy at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, after which he did his PhD research at the department of Pharmaceutics of the same university. He studied the necessary conditions for succesful CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, from encapsulation in nanocarriers to cellular uptake and pathway modulation. After a brief postdoc in the same group, studying encapsulation of mRNA in cell-derived vesicles, he was granted a Humboldt fellowship to study de novo protein designs for efficient mRNA encapsulation and delivery. In his free time, Danny enjoys cooking, D&D and rock climbing.
